Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring an active NY license in hand and EPIC charting experience.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract length
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg patients
- Floating required
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive Med/Surg Tele nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Manage peripheral IV lines and administer respiratory support as needed
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in employment before reapplying
- Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
