- Floating: May float to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor
- Unit Focus: Post-surgical, ortho, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative, hospice, and end-of-life patient care
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and scheduled weekends
- Experience caring for a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including higher-acuity and end-of-life patients
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to self-scheduling and changing unit needs
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and acute care patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to established nursing protocols
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Cerner
- Support patients and families with education, comfort, and compassionate bedside care
- Maintain a professional, patient-first approach while contributing to a collaborative nursing team
