Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:7
• Manage and care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and surgical rule-outs
• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results as directed by physician orders
• Monitor patients on intermittent BiPAP and respond to telemetry alerts coordinated through remote monitor technicians
• Collaborate with PCTs, charge RN, and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, quality patient care
• Float to other units as needed based on census, with travelers prioritized for floating assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability and willingness to accept a patient ratio of up to 1:7
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled (approximately half of total weekends)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with high-acuity patient populations
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and BiPAP management
• Experience with scheduling platforms such as Qgenda
