Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Located on the 2 North Med/Surg unit of an acute care hospital in Corpus Christi, TX
- 16-bed unit currently caring for a mix of general Med/Surg and COVID-positive patients
- Patient ratio is a maximum of 6:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- EMR: Meditech
- Floating required to other Med/Surg units
- Weekend rotation is as-needed for travel RNs
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg experience required
- Ability to manage a caseload of 4–6 patients simultaneously
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Typical procedures include IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, and EHR documentation
- Candidates with ortho or neuro-surgery backgrounds are preferred; Med/Surg/Telemetry experience is also viewed favorably
- Candidates with 2+ years of recent acute Med/Surg experience will be given priority consideration
- Scrubs required (no specific color indicated)
- Night shift team consists of 1 charge RN, 3 RNs, and 1 PCA
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
