Job Summary:
Mammographer, located in Salinas, California. This position involves performing mammograms and bone density scans while assisting radiologists with needle localization, stereotactic biopsies, and galactograms. The technologist will work under supervision to ensure compliance with Radiation Practice Standards, American College of Radiology (ACR), and MQSA regulations, supporting quality assurance activities and maintaining patient safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the American Medical Association, current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification in Radiologic (R) and Mammography (M), ARRT (R) registration, and BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
- Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience as a licensed mammography technologist.
- Additional Information: Performs mammograms and bone density scans daily according to facility policies and approved safety standards. Assists radiologists with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram procedures once competent. Obtains and reviews patient medical histories, explains procedures, prepares images for interpretation, and supports quality assurance efforts using equipment such as Hologic Selenia and AGFA Printer. Reports patient condition changes and assists with scheduling and emergency medical interventions as needed. Attends departmental meetings and collaborates closely with lead technologists to meet MQSA standards.
