Job Description & Requirements
Mammography Tech - (Mam - Mammo Tech)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 10 D Pay Rate: $2664.00 - $2746.00

This Mammography Technologist position is based at a leading tertiary care hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, within a dynamic New England coastal city that blends historic character with modern amenities. Providence offers a walkable downtown, a thriving restaurant scene, renowned arts and cultural events, and easy access to oceanfront beaches, parks, and bike paths, making it a highly livable and appealing place to work and live. The location also provides convenient access to Boston, Cape Cod, and the wider New England region. You will join a hospital-based breast imaging environment known for its connection to an academic medical community and its commitment to advanced technology and quality patient care. The breast imaging program offers digital mammography and tomosynthesis in a modern, patient-centered setting, working closely with breast surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists. The culture emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and collaboration, supported by experienced technologists, radiologists, nurses, and support staff. In this role, you will perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms, ensuring accurate positioning, image quality, and patient safety. You will prepare and educate patients, explain procedures in a clear and reassuring way, and maintain a compassionate, professional demeanor throughout each examination. A typical day includes working from a dedicated mammography suite, reviewing orders, verifying patient history, coordinating with radiologists, and documenting in the EMR and imaging systems. Patient volumes are designed to balance efficiency with adequate time for individualized care and thorough imaging. Depending on experience and department needs, you may assist with or support image-guided breast procedures, follow established protocols for quality control, and contribute to maintaining accreditation standards. Shifts are primarily daytime, with possible staggered start times to support early morning or late afternoon appointments to meet patient needs. The schedule is designed to support work-life balance while maintaining high-quality service for patients. This position is ideal for a Mammography Technologist who values working in a respected, academically oriented hospital environment, with access to advanced imaging technology, supportive colleagues, and strong opportunities for professional growth in breast imaging. The combination of a collaborative workplace and the appeal of Providence’s coastal, culturally rich setting makes this a compelling opportunity for technologists looking to advance their careers in mammography.
