Once the patient is evaluated, the Mental Health Professional III collaborates with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to make level of care determinations, and coordinates treatment/discharge plans. Professionals in this role also serve as a resource to the broader care team by assisting with de-escalation in crisis situations, guiding them through the IVC process, and providing information about inpatient hospitalization and community resources.
