Certifications: Relevant certifications as per licensing requirements. Must-Have: Completion of continuing professional education for license renewal as per relevant sections of the state code. Description: The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides identified interdisciplinary services related to behavioral and biomedical science, knowledge, and techniques relevant to health and illness. This role applies knowledge and techniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Independently provides behavioral healthcare provider services within the credentialed scope of practice. Serves as lead worker or liaison to other support agencies. Acts as lead worker over lower-level behavioral healthcare providers. Independently develops and implements treatment plans for clients. Coordinates admission, assessment, evaluation, and treatment plans for clients' care cycle. Provides interventions for acute and complex clients. Handles cases with numerous factors and problems and provides crisis intervention. Participates in establishing, implementing, and directing behavioral healthcare programs and treatment system objectives. Develops and designs treatment intervention techniques and procedures. Evaluates and modifies treatment systems based on clients' progress and ability to change behavior. Evaluates performance of lower-level behavioral healthcare providers in administering prescribed treatment plans. Maintains necessary documentation to meet federal, state, and local agency requirements. Serves as an active member of treatment teams, training sessions, and department procedure meetings. Establishes and maintains working relationships with facilities, agencies, and support services for coordination of referrals and follow-up services. May require unusual work schedules or arrangements. May involve exposure to potentially violent clients. May entail exposure to unusual noise, odors, or contagious diseases. May require travel to community sites under contract with mental health departments.
