Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Maternal Infant Unit (L&D) located on the 3rd floor of the Atrium building
- Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for labor (most of the time), 5-6:1 for postpartum, 5-6:1 for nursery
- Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, and newborn and postpartum care
- GE fetal monitors used on unit
- EMR: Meditech and CPN
- Every third weekend required
- 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced fetal monitoring certification (or NCCEFM)
- Minimum 2 years of labor experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
Additional Information
- Experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes is preferred
- Unit team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretaries, and leadership/educator support on day shift; labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, and secretaries on night shift
- Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)
