Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

  • Work in a 24-bed Maternal Infant Unit (L&D) located on the 3rd floor of the Atrium building
  • Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Patient ratios: 1:1 for labor (most of the time), 5-6:1 for postpartum, 5-6:1 for nursery
  • Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, and newborn and postpartum care
  • GE fetal monitors used on unit
  • EMR: Meditech and CPN
  • Every third weekend required
  • 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced fetal monitoring certification (or NCCEFM)
  • Minimum 2 years of labor experience required
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

Additional Information

  • Experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes is preferred
  • Unit team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretaries, and leadership/educator support on day shift; labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, and secretaries on night shift
  • Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)
