Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Anchorage, Alaska. This high-risk obstetric unit provides care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, with an average of seven daily deliveries and additional high-risk cases. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, Level II Trauma facility with a focus on obstetrical care, including high-risk and complex deliveries, along with antepartum testing.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska Registered Nurse license in hand for auto-offer. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, Advanced and Intermediate certifications from AWHONN, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Must have at least 1 year of related experience. Community hospital experience preferred or willing to train.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience or willingness to train as charge nurse.
- Additional Information: The assignment length is 13 weeks, with start date as soon as possible. RTO requests are considered on an individual basis, with all RTO to be included at submission. The position involves floating within scope to meet unit needs. The facility provides scrub attire and free parking, and charting is completed using Epic EMR. A pending license is accepted but must be in hand for auto-offer, with license approval taking approximately 10-12 weeks. Candidates must be willing to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Submission requires reference checks covering the past year, and travelers should consider housing options in the area. No local candidates are accepted, and a minimum distance of 50 miles from the facility is required.
