Job Summary:
The labor and delivery specialty position is located in Norwalk, Connecticut. This role involves providing comprehensive maternity care within a 366-bed acute care academic medical center. The position requires experienced registered nurses (RNs) with the ability to perform scheduled inductions, repeat cesarean sections, non-stress tests, triage, infant care, and potentially float to maternity. The shift is rotating with scheduled hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week starting on August 31, 2026.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Advanced, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (Electronic Fetal Heart Monitorin) through NCC within one year of start date, American Hospital Association (AHA) Basic Fetal Monitoring certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring) candidates strongly preferred, Cerner documentation experience, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience.
  • Additional Information: The role involves scheduled inductions, repeat cesarean sections, non-stress tests, triage, infant care, and 1:1 RN care for epidural placements and Magnesium Sulfate administration. Possible float to maternity services may be required.
