Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse position available in Eureka, California. The role involves providing care for high-risk obstetric patients, including postpartum and newborn care, with a focus on caring for a culturally diverse population. The ideal candidate will start as soon as possible and have experience in labor and delivery to support a busy unit.
Job Details:
- Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
- Education Requirements: Valid California license in hand; pending licenses accepted but must meet specific requirements
- Location Requirements: Must be within a 50-mile radius of Eureka, CA
- Years of Experience: 1 year minimum experience required; 0 years minimum experience for consideration
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Float: Float rotation may be required as needed to meet facility needs; travelers are first to float within their scope
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Care for high-risk OB, cesarean sections, postpartum, and neonatal care with experience in labor and delivery procedures such as assist with amniocentesis, high-risk delivery, sterile speculum exams, and fetal monitoring
- Additional Unit Information: Support from interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, Lift Teams, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Travel Experience Required: Not specified but attention to work requirements noted
- Submission Requirements: Must include SSN, DOB, RTO request, two references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs), and specific charting experience using Epic
- Holidays: Traveler must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Housing: Candidates encouraged to explore housing options locally as options may be limited
- Modules: Non-billable modules, approximately 16 hours spent, completed pre-start and annually in Workramp transcripts
