Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Enid, Oklahoma. This role involves providing specialized maternal and fetal care in a busy labor and delivery unit. The nurse will work night shifts, performing various clinical procedures associated with labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their hospital stay.
Job Details:
- Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Enid, Oklahoma
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oklahoma
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Labor and Delivery
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Electronic fetal monitoring skills with AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) - Intermediate level
- Cerner electronic health record system experience
- Experience with maternity patients including females of childbearing years, pregnant women at 17 weeks gestation and beyond, laboring patients, scheduled procedures (such as C-sections and external cephalic versions), as well as triage issues
- Knowledge of common labor and delivery equipment including fetal monitors and documentation systems (Fetalink and Cerner)
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Nursery or postpartum (PP) experience
- Experience with scheduled procedures such as cerclage (not typically performed on the unit)
- Additional Information:
- The patient population includes women in various stages of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, with activity including admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op assessments, and deliveries (vaginal and Cesarean).
- The unit handles scheduled procedures and triage cases, with documentation using Cerner and Fetalink systems.
