Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Dickson, Tennessee. This position involves providing specialized care within a dedicated labor and delivery unit, supporting mother and newborn assessments, and managing OB emergencies. The role offers opportunities to work with experienced staff in a well-equipped facility.
Job Details:
- Certification, Education, and Experience Requirements: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training; 0+ years of experience in labor and delivery including the ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn; experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must have labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment. Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential OB emergencies preferred. Advanced skills needed: Fetal monitoring education, experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil).
- Procedures performed on unit: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries.
- Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training.
- Dress Code: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per the infant security policy for the unit.
- Unit Specifics: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) unit with 9 beds, 1 bed in OB Emergency Department, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite. Staff functions include daily patient rounding and safety rounding. The unit features advanced equipment such as CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps. The team consists of approximately 6 seasoned RNs with around 30 years of experience each, providing a supportive environment for new staff.
