Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position requiring at least 1 year of LDRP experience, Epic proficiency, and a valid WA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center
- Labor & Delivery / LDRP unit with potential float to all facilities within the state
- Patient ratios: 1:1–2 for laboring patients; 1:3–4 for postpartum couplets
- Facility delivers fewer than 100 births per month
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling required
- On-call required when census is low
- EMR: Epic (required)
- Scrubs: any color permitted
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Beginner); preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; LDRP or NICU experience specifically required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, infusion pump management, and cardiac monitoring
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section recovery and circulation, hemorrhage/shock response, and sterile vaginal exams
- Experienced in fetal monitoring including EFM, internal fetal monitoring, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement
- Neonatal care skills required: APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, ID/security banding, thermoregulation, and radiant warmer use
- Capable of managing high-acuity obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, PROM, preterm labor, and placenta previa/abruptio
- Postpartum care experience including couplet care, cesarean section recovery, fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, and Foley catheter management
- Newborn care skills including newborn assessment, hypoglycemia management, metabolic screening, and discharge teaching
- Pain management experience including epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, antihypertensives, and opioid administration
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) must disclose the location and dates of that employment
- Former permanent Providence staff must wait at least 3 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate; local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; requests made after submission may not be approved
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
