Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
• High-volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
• Handles high risk antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care cases
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May be required to float to other units
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, EFM/IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Support pain management including epidural anesthesia and medication administration such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
• Assist with surgical cases including C-section circulation and recovery
• Provide postpartum care for cesarean section, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage patients
• Fingerprinting must be completed urgently after signing contract as part of Ohio state requirements
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
