• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

• Floating: May float within the women’s service area as needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred for comfort in a high-volume, challenging unit
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with high-volume birth settings preferred, including facilities averaging 300+ births per month
• Current BLS certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate or AWHONN Advanced certification required
• NRP certification required
• Ability to circulate for C-sections strongly preferred
• Skill in sterile vaginal exams, immediate newborn care, and obstetrical triage
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetrics environment
• Open to floating within or near the women’s unit as needed
• NC or compact license pending may be considered for submission

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for obstetrical patients in labor, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum settings
• Support high-risk maternal patients and assist with routine and urgent obstetric care
• Circulate for cesarean sections and support surgical deliveries when needed
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and assist with triage of obstetrical patients
• Deliver immediate newborn care and respond appropriately to newborn needs at delivery
• Monitor patients closely in a busy unit with multiple simultaneous labor assignments
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Document accurately in Epic and follow unit workflows and communication standards
• Maintain a professional, flexible, and patient-centered approach in a high-volume environment
