Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and rotating night shifts on a 36/48-hour biweekly schedule.

Details

  • Work setting is a community-level hospital with approximately 100–200 births per month
  • Assignment covers Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units
  • Low-risk obstetrical patient population
  • Night shift schedule rotating between 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within scope of practice
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Meditech EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery required
  • Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
  • Valid driver's license with address matching permanent residence required for consideration
  • Must be willing to accept the 36/48 rotating schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the next)

Additional Information

  • Clinical responsibilities include vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, obstetrical triage, external fetal monitoring (EFM), postpartum hemorrhage management, pregnancy-induced hypertension care, and newborn assessment and care
  • Additional skills utilized include epidural and opioid pain management, IV therapy, central line maintenance, insulin drips, phototherapy, thermoregulation, breastfeeding/lactation support, and discharge teaching to parents
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
  • Must work at least one major or minor holiday per assignment
  • Travelers who have worked within this health system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
  • Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same shift or unit
