Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a dual IR and Cath Lab position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED or ICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Dual role covering both Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cardiac Cath Lab
- Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 500 staffed beds
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- On-call required
- Every 3rd weekend required (may vary); weekend shifts are 12 hours in the Radiology department responding to urgent/emergent IR procedural needs including Code Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, and IR Body cases, as well as sedation/anesthesia recovery
- Floating required between IR and Cath Lab
- Epic EMR required
- Procedures include angioplasty, cerebral angiography, embolization, TIPS, carotid stenting, PCI, left/right heart catheterization, chest tube placement, pulmonary angiography, nephrostomy, renal artery stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and more
- Skills utilized include procedural sedation monitoring, sheath removal, ACT, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, vascular closure systems, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, antiarrhythmics, and hemostasis agents
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (pending license not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ED or ICU experience (hard stop requirement)
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, Compliance EKG Exam
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, PALS
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration (1 non-supervisory may be accepted on a case-by-case basis)
- Background disclosures required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if all other requirements are met
- Prior UW Health staff must have an 18-month separation from the facility before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO is not accommodated during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; keep RTO requests to a minimum throughout the contract
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 6–8 hours); WA state suicide prevention training may add an additional 6 hours for those working in applicable settings
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also available on the unit, and OR scrubs are provided in the OR
- Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; offsite parking with shuttle service is also available on weekdays
