Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at an academic medical center in San Francisco, requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and a minimum of 2 years of IR/radiology experience.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology unit within a major academic medical center
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (8:00–18:30), Monday through Friday
  • Adult patient population requiring procedural sedation, diagnostic imaging, and IR procedures
  • Pacemaker interrogation experience applicable to this role
  • Floating to other facilities within the health system may be required at any time during the assignment
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license currently in hand
  • BSN required
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in radiology/interventional radiology required
  • Adult acute care experience required
  • Experience with diagnostic imaging, IR procedures, and procedural sedation required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • PALS preferred
  • Radiology Imaging Nursing certification preferred
  • Experience in ICU, ED, PACU, or another procedural area preferred
  • 2 completed references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include administering and monitoring conscious sedation, medication management, pre/post-procedure care, IV therapy, and emergency response
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management is expected, along with knowledge of reversal agents and CDC standard precautions
  • Epic is the charting system used; confirm whether prior experience is required or preferred

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rates as travelers
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of offer and approved by the manager; RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment and no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract
  • Travel pairs are permitted but will generally not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
  • Pre-start modules are required and may range from 1 to 24 hours; modules are non-billable
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
