Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring 2 years of IR/Neuro-Stroke experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology department of a tertiary care hospital
  • Handle a caseload of approximately 16 cases per day across three IR rooms with pre/post coverage in RPPU as needed
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • 13-week minimum assignment length, longer contracts considered
  • Call requirement includes being within 30 minutes of the hospital, with rotating primary and backup call duties (approximately 8 call days per 10-12 week period)
  • Weekend call coverage required on a rotational basis (24-hour call Saturday and Sunday)
  • Possible on-call requirement for one holiday
  • No floating required
  • Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license (pending license accepted at submission)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • IR experience and experience in Neuro/Stroke procedures and coiling required
  • Skilled in conscious sedation and telemetry monitoring
  • Understanding of IR procedures including stroke management required
  • Experience in ventilator management preferred
  • Circulating experience preferred
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 12 months highly preferred at submission

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a lower rate
  • Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required
  • Current travel per diem clinicians at this facility must choose between travel or per diem status
  • Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units with separate transportation
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • Weekly hospital orientation includes 8 hours of unit orientation with mandatory daily class attendance
  • Pre-start modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed prior to start and annually
  • Scrubs (ceil blue) are provided by the facility
  • Manager will not extend an offer without speaking to the candidate first
