(local rate applies)Dysrhythmia Exam is Not Required 2-3 yrs experience as an IR Techprior travel exp preferredMust have neuro exprun off and angiogram exp highly preferredFour 9-hour shifts (Monday through Friday as assigned), totaling 36 hours/week. Daily Hours will rotate between the hours of 7am-430, 730am-5pm or 8am-530pmCall required - 1 day a week with every 4th weekend coverage. Call coverage is 530pm-7am during the week and 7am-7pm on weekendsAdditional on-call shifts during the week and weekends to support coverage for open positions.Staff may be required to stay beyond their scheduled shift if more than one procedure room remains in operation at end of day.ITO prescreen, manager final interview/offerTraveler not needed until May at this timeUnit Specific Details2 Labs12-15 cases a dayThe candidate must stay within 30min of the hospital for on call days. Performs high quality diagnostic/interventional peripheral vascular examinations.-Able to assist physician in all biopsies, thrombectomies, embolization s, tunneled dialysis catheters, Medi ports, lumbar drains, nephrostomy tube insertion, tunneled PICC, gallbladder/biliary drains, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, lumbar puncture, CAPD catheter, epidurals, and PEG tube insertion. -Neuro-interventional procedure (cerebral angiograms, thrombectomy, coiling, carotid stenting).We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rad Tech who can independently and effectively contribute to a high-acuity, fast-paced interventional environment. Travelers must be flexible, dependable, and committed to providing the highest level of patient care.Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position? The Angiography/Special Procedures Technologist will assist the Licensed Practitioner in the completion of fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and Neuro-Interventional procedures while using sterile technique. They prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations or facility policy. Essential Job Functions? Obtains and verifies patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.? Provides accurate explanations and instructions effectively to the patient and their care providers and addresses questions and concerns regarding the procedure. Determines all procedural requirements are in place to achieve a quality procedure. Assists Licensed Practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and neuro-Interventional procedures. Administers contrast with a power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Adheres to radiation safety rules and standards by applying principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.? Selects and operates the imaging equipment and/or associated equipment to achieve desired results. Verifies informed consent and completes pre, procedural and post procedure documentation.? Completes timeouts as required per policy.? Assesses patient risk for allergic reaction to contrast media prior to administration and can assist in the initial treatment of its adverse effects associated to its administration. Uses PACS (picture archival communication system) and other facilities systems with proficiency. Is aware of downtime procedures. Educates and monitors students and other health care providers Receives, relays and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient s medical record Maintains inventory and notifies appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.
