Job Title: Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: Neurointerventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Rotational Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Client license as Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Certification Must-Have: - Attention to detail - Collaboration - Continuous learning - Initiative - Judgment/Critical thinking - Problem-solving - Quality - Reliability - Technical expertise Description: The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician. This role includes extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, other spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. Responsibilities include providing technical support for all interventional and neurointerventional procedures. This involves discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations. The technologist will provide technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, for neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization. Advanced imaging equipment must be operated using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and neurointerventional patient procedures. The technologist will ensure that proper safety standards are met and that radiation safety practices are adhered to. Instructing students and residents and performing preceptor duties when necessary is also part of this role. Quality assurance checks on equipment will be performed regularly. Assistance in maintaining supply inventory for all interventional and neurointerventional procedures is required. Utilizing information systems for scheduling online is part of the responsibilities. Reviewing coding procedures for accurate billing of all neurointerventional and interventional procedures is necessary. Continuous learning by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings is encouraged. Adherence to appropriate and accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures is required while performing or supervising all interventional diagnostic procedures. Confidentiality of patients and hospital information must be maintained at all times. Compliance with all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to incident reporting is expected. Other related duties may be performed as required.
