Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: VIR Certification preferred Description: Short Description: 5x8 hour days, on-call/callback/holiday as needed. Will consider 6-month contractors. On Call: 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block. 2-4 of these days will be weekend call. Complete Description: Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning. Consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Works cooperatively with all members to resolve problems expediently. Displays flexibility, teamwork, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers. Demonstrates awareness of patient rights in all interfaces with patients. Instructs and prepares patients for examinations. Assists the Radiologist during procedures. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in the operation of all equipment. Reports malfunctions to manager or lead. Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner. Uses time between procedures to assist others and help with room turnover. Understands the importance of medication security to authorized personnel only. Demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups. Shows competency in interpersonal relationships across all age groups. Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities when warranted. Ensures confidentiality by using own password and patient care modules. Answers technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
