Job Title: Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology/Cardiology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:45 - 15:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience; may consider 1 year with Level I or Level II trauma experience License: Must hold a radiologic license from the Department of Health Certifications: ARRT or current equivalent certification, BLS certification Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited radiography program Competent in assisting Interventional Radiologists for minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures Knowledge of imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound Description: The Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist must assist in minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during procedures. The technologist will operate equipment such as fluoroscopy and C-arm. Common procedures include abdominal aortograms, fistulagrams, carotid angiograms, and EVARs. The department averages 20 patients per day, with labs running a 2:1 ratio of Radiologic Technologists to Registered Nurses. EPIC charting is utilized within the department. The facility has two endovascular suites and also includes open procedure operating rooms. The technologist must be adaptable to call and weekend expectations, including total call responsibility. Every other holiday is required.
