Job Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor and treat simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline. Job Responsibilities:-Assists Providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including but not limited to cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization and pain management.-Utilizes a variety of highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or invasive procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.-Ensures procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus centric care.-Assists in preparing patients for on patient procedures and providing comfort.-Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures-Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols.-Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines.-Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.-Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.-Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.-Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.-Assists with quality assurance, audits and performance improvement tasks as requested.-Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.-May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.-May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members.-Assists with onboarding of new team members.-Performs other duties as assigned. null Schedule shifts with a rotating day off, call as needed. Manager WILL consider candidates with NO Travel and NO Trauma experience. Interventional Technology experience required, cath lab experience preferred. BLS / ACLS required. Candidates must have completed one of the following ( entry into practice) education programs : (The specific program taken must be clearly noted on the resume. *Associate degree or above program in Radiologic Technology OR *2-year RCIS program. Skills: Required Skills & Experience:-Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, positioning of patients and medical ethics.-Applies core knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures.-Demonstrates ability and skill to apply theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation.-Applies knowledge of sterile fields consistently ensuring a safe environment for the patient.-Strong verbal and written communication skills.-Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served.-Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.-Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments.-Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.-Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others.-Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled.-Ability to be sensitive to patients physical and psychological needs.-Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
