Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing comprehensive care to acutely ill adult patients in a high-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The role requires expertise in telemetry, vent management, and transplant care within a fast-moving academic hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); Wisconsin licensed RN or compact RN license; at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in an inpatient setting; experience in telemetry, vent and transplant patient care; proficiency in managing Ports, arterial lines, blood products, and complex cardiac rhythms; pass/fail telemetry exam with strict passing criteria, including two attempts with an 80% score.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center; familiarity with electronic medical records (Epic); experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment providing specialized adult patient care.
- Float: Float rotation may be required as needed.
- Additional Information: Traveler will work in both Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and Step Down areas, caring for patients with diagnoses such as Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post lung transplant. The unit emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and advanced practice skills in a collaborative environment. The role includes passing a telemetry assessment and managing complex patient needs, including ventilator management and transplant post-care.
