Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele/IMC RN for a Float Pool position requiring recent Epic experience and prior IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience.

Details

  • Work in the IMC unit as part of a Float Pool, floating between Med/Surg and IMC units
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
  • Care for patients with 1:4-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios
  • Patient population includes acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, trauma, and stroke cases
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends
  • Floating required in rotation with facility staff, with appropriate orientation provided per Joint Commission standards

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience in a hospital setting required
  • Minimum 2 years of prior IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit experience in a hospital setting required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Recent Epic charting experience required
  • Flu shot and 2-step PPD required with no exceptions

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across a range of acute conditions including respiratory distress, cardiac emergencies, and stroke
  • Must be comfortable floating between Med/Surg and IMC units as a hard requirement of the position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year extension before being eligible to return
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • RTO must be presented at time of consideration, approved prior to assignment start, and noted in confirmation
