Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a Maryland or compact license for a night shift assignment requiring at least 3 years of critical care experience.

Details

  • Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes Trauma, Cardiovascular, Stroke, and Neuro cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Floating required within scope to IMC as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • EPIC charting system required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred; will consider 2+ years with strong experience
  • No new graduate RNs will be considered
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line and central line care, IV titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and cardiac monitoring
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and post-neurosurgery care required
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to complex trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patients in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit
  • Float assignments will include appropriate orientation to the receiving unit
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends as scheduled
  • Only one RTO request permitted, and must be submitted and approved prior to assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted, with limited exceptions for certain specialties
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a one-year assignment before returning as a traveler
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Candidates with a pending license will be accepted
