Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift contract in Rochester, NY, requiring Epic proficiency and a NY RN license in hand.

Details

  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00), every other weekend required
  • ICU setting within a community hospital environment
  • Patient population ranges from young adults to elderly, with a mix of medical, surgical, and neurological cases including ventilated patients, titratable drips, and substance abuse withdrawal
  • Diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and GI system diseases, as well as post-operative patient management
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Special procedures include A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and open abdomens
  • Glidescope experience utilized in this unit
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Floating required to med/surg unit
  • Local candidates not accepted — must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required and must be in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis)

Additional Information

  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Navy and/or white scrubs required (any combination)
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 10 days for the duration of the assignment
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a gap of at least 1 year before returning
  • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
  • Candidates with foreign education should be prepared for additional verification
