Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a float pool ICU position requiring Epic proficiency, multi-ICU float capability, and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.
Details
- Float pool position requiring rotation across multiple ICUs, including MICU, TICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, SICU, and Burn ICU
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Valid LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending not accepted)
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CVVHD/CRRT) and IV insulin protocols
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Two recent supervisor/manager references required (dated within the last 12 months)
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Any license history issues must be disclosed along with a personal statement
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who have worked permanently at any facility within this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- Maximum of 5 days of RTO for the duration of the contract
- Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local pay rate
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Non-billable orientation modules must be completed prior to start date and vary in length by specialty (typically 5–8 hours for RNs)
- Preferred skills include ECMO management, care of post-cardiac surgery patients, Burn ICU experience, liver/renal transplant care, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
