ICU RN Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Neuro ICU experience highly preferred
• First-time travelers considered with strong Neuro ICU experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• CPI preferred
• NIHSS preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Comfort working with a 1:2 patient ratio, with up to 1:3 for stable, lower-acuity patients
• Ability to provide care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert critical care nursing to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ICP monitoring, EVDs, cEEG, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic support
• Assess neurological status frequently and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support care for stroke, ICH, SAH, TBI, status epilepticus, post-craniotomy, and spinal cord injury patients
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedation, paralytics, and other ICU therapies per protocol
• Collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain safe, organized care for patients using advanced ICU equipment and specialty monitoring systems
• Float within the specialty as needed while maintaining a strong focus on quality and patient safety
