Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with critical care skills for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active PA or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Cerner charting system experience preferred
  • Float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required based on facility need
  • Must be willing to float within the hospital as needed
  • Required to work every other holiday

Requirements

  • Active PA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
  • Skilled in titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
  • Experience with neurological critical care including ICP monitoring, EVD, and post-craniotomy management
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade administration
  • SSN, date of birth, and RTO details required for consideration
  • Two supervisor references preferred
  • Background concerns must be disclosed prior to consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
  • All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
  • Approximately 1 hour of pre-start orientation modules must be completed before entering the facility
  • Travel experience is not required, making this position open to first-time travelers
