Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with strong cardiac ICU (CVICU/CCU) background for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring a SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a hospital setting, caring for cardiac and medical intensive care patients with some step-down overflow
  • Manage patients with advanced cardiac devices including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and TVP
  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring, invasive line management, and CRRT
  • Patient ratio of 2:1
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • 13-week assignment length
  • EMR: Epic, with 1-year minimum experience required
  • Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license (SC or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience combining MICU and Cardiac ICU, with step-down experience preferred
  • Minimum 1-year recent experience in a similar unit required
  • 1-year minimum experience with Epic EMR required
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR) required
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal required
  • Skills required: arterial line management, central line care, IV therapy, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring required
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required

Additional Information

  • Provide advanced cardiac and medical ICU nursing care, including management of complex cardiac devices and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Orientation occurs every Monday
  • Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • Adult ICU travelers must reside 50+ miles from the relevant flagship hospital (Prisma Richland or Greenville) for eligibility, with full pay rate granted at 100+ miles
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
