Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) travel position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- 16-bed high-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as determined by the facility
- Floating to other units and hospitals is required
- EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
Requirements
- Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or Red Cross accepted
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in ICU or the specific specialty
- Nursys license verification required
- Active state or compact license must be on hand for consideration
- Current driver's license required
- 2 professional references from within the last year required
- Skills checklist required
Additional Information
- Nurses collaborate across all care team disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a safe and secure environment
- All ICU RNs are required to complete both an online pre-test and an on-site test as part of the hiring process
- No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
- Timekeeping system: Centricity
- Solid navy scrubs required
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
- PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit
