Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience with trauma and neuro backgrounds.

Details

  • Hospital ICU setting serving as a primary trauma and stroke unit
  • Patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required on an as-needed basis
  • Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required at time of consideration: BLS and ACLS (both via AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute and/or chronically ill patients
  • Trauma and neuro ICU experience required
  • Charge RN and Neuro ICU experience preferred
  • Nursing degree from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) plus 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to trauma and neurological ICU patients
  • A Basic Arrhythmia assessment is required; candidates must pass with an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections
  • Proof of vaccination status required — declinations are not accepted
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility are eligible, but at a reduced pay rate
  • 13-week contract
