Employee will process sections of body tissue by fixation, dehydration, embedding, sectioning, decalcification, micro incineration, mounting, and prepares dyes and chemical solutions while processing frozen sections. Employee works with other histotechs to process, cut, and embed an average of 500 blocks per night. Preferred experience includes Leica Peloris Tissue Processor, Tissue Tek VIP Tissue Processor, and Tissue Tek Prisma H&E Stainer. Special procedures involve working with various patient age groups and a diverse range of diagnoses. Employee must be flexible and willing to adapt to changes in scheduling as necessary.
