Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring OR RN licensure and Epic charting experience.

Details

  • .Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Variable evening (3x12, 14:00-2:30) and night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shift schedule
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • No floating between units required at the contracted facility, though floating to nearby sister facilities may be expected
  • Weekend rotation required, typically every other weekend with occasional back-to-back weekends
  • 48-hour work weeks not approved
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required, with OR RN license required or eligible to submit pending
  • Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Preferred certifications: NRP and PALS
  • Required skills: IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Preferred skills: blood product administration and central line care/management
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Administer medications including IV vasopressors as needed
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; up to 6 total days or 3 consecutive days can be auto-approved, additional time may delay offer
  • Travelers may be required to float to nearby sister facilities within the health system
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, with local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Scrubs provided for ED staff
