Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a PA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Required to work every other weekend (EOW)
  • Holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active PA RN license or compact RN license in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of ED experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, medication administration, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage
  • One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of critically ill patients
  • Must complete PA fingerprinting and Childline clearance promptly after signing contract due to state credentialing requirements
  • Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Any prior permanent or per diem employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed, and candidates must have been away from such employment for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
