Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center and STEMI/Stroke Certified facility in California, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and broad adult/pediatric emergency experience.
Details
- Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting at a Level II Trauma Center
- Facility is both STEMI and Stroke Certified
- Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts with alternating start times of 7am, 10am, or 12pm (most shifts will begin at 10am or 12pm)
- Every other weekend required, with the possibility of more depending on unit needs
- Floating may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MAB, and NIHSS
- Strong Emergency Department experience required, including adult and pediatric populations
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with arterial line management, central line care, phlebotomy, IV placement, and blood product administration
- Experience administering procedural sedation, continuous IV paralytics, IV vasopressors, and IV sedation
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKGs and interpret ABGs
- Experience managing ventilated patients, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tube insertion and management
- Experience with neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury, ICP monitoring, and CVA
- Experience managing psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, and behavioral emergencies
- Experience with triage, trauma (including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations), and ortho-trauma including splint application
- Broad medical/emergency condition experience including burns, seizures, drug overdose, sickle cell crisis, respiratory conditions, and more
- Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
