- Patient Ratio: 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
- Patient Volume: High-acuity, high-volume emergency setting
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required before start
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required; 3 years preferred
- Previous experience in a high-volume or trauma emergency department required for candidates with 2 years of experience
- Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic experience preferred
- Must be able to complete required onboarding and compliance items within the requested timeframe
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing a broad range of adult and pediatric emergency cases
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups, including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a busy emergency department
- Administer medications and perform emergency interventions according to patient needs and provider direction
- Manage critical situations with confidence, including trauma, stroke, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and behavioral health emergencies
- Support safe patient flow in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent communication with the care team
- Perform skilled nursing procedures such as IV management, blood product administration, line care, and emergency medication delivery
- Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote timely, coordinated patient care
