Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a required Active PA or Compact RN license and Cerner charting experience for a rotating shift assignment.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving a combined Adult/Pediatric population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Rotating shift schedule with Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) and Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
  • Floating required within the hospital as well as to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active PA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (AHA certifications only)
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG/ECG required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
  • Experience managing pediatric emergency conditions including abdominal pain, infection, seizures, and UTI required
  • Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE required
  • Experience managing psychiatric patients including drug overdose, violent behavior, psychiatric hold, and suicidal patients preferred
  • Experience with splint application preferred
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Responsibilities include managing cardiac dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and administering emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation
  • Must be available to work every other holiday
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • Background concerns must be disclosed prior to consideration
  • Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
  • All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
