American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or MD RN license and prior ED triage experience in a high-volume setting

Details

  • Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • 13-week contract on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Uses Cerner EMR
  • Requires triage experience
  • Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Floating within skillset required

Requirements

  • Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years
  • Within the past 8 months, must have worked in an ED with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
  • Prior travel nursing assignment experience required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response duties
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
  • Candidates with prior MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Community hospital experience and previous charge experience are preferred but not required
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
