Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Oncology Pod Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and at least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Works in an Oncology Pod Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Floating is required
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
  • Clinical procedures include IV starts and maintenance, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, IV vasopressor administration, and ABG interpretation
  • Triage and isolation precautions/PPE are part of regular duties
  • Pediatric cases are seen, including sickle cell crisis

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required — this is a hard stop requirement
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — coworker references are not accepted
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible
  • RTO must be submitted at the time of application and will be built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 consecutive days or fewer for the 13-week contract
