Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and current NIHSS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
- Central line care/management experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
- Proficiency in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Responsibilities include triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response for dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day) fall within the assignment period
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
