Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and current NIHSS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Central line care/management experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care
• Proficiency in isolation precautions/PPE and triage

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Responsibilities include triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response for dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day) fall within the assignment period
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
