Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position within an Oncology Pod requiring 2+ years of ED experience, 1 year of travel experience, and an OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the ER Holding unit within an Onc Pod Emergency Department setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Floating required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency and oncology-focused nursing care within a holding unit setting
- Skills utilized may include respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and administration of emergency medications and IV vasopressors
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition is required
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage is expected
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of consideration, with up to 7 consecutive days off granted at facility discretion for a 14-week contract
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
- Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract, either in person or via a mailed packet for those at a distance
- First-time travelers are not eligible due to the required 1 year of travel experience
