Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position within an Oncology Pod requiring 2+ years of ED experience, 1 year of travel experience, and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the ER Holding unit within an Onc Pod Emergency Department setting
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Floating required

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency and oncology-focused nursing care within a holding unit setting
  • Skills utilized may include respiratory care, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and administration of emergency medications and IV vasopressors
  • Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition is required
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage is expected
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of consideration, with up to 7 consecutive days off granted at facility discretion for a 14-week contract
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
  • Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract, either in person or via a mailed packet for those at a distance
  • First-time travelers are not eligible due to the required 1 year of travel experience
