Job Title: Electrophysiology Technologist Profession: Cardiovascular Technologist Specialty: Electrophysiology Duration: 49 days Shift: 11AM - 7:30PM or 9AM - 7:30PM Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Cath lab/Electrophysiology required License: N/A Certifications: AHA BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 3 months of employment, RCIS exam or Radiologic Technologist License within 1 year of hire Must-Have: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite Description: The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians with invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This includes temporary and permanent pacemaker placement. The Cardiovascular Technologist will also assist with circulatory support devices as needed. Key responsibilities include preparing equipment and sterile trays for procedures. The technologist will assist the procedure room team with patient monitoring. They will calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings. The technologist will assist physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures. They will load and operate power injectors and associated sterile support equipment. The technologist will maneuver the table controls for physicians as requested. They will calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment and obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data. Responsibilities also include calculating and recording cardiac output and oximetry readings. The technologist will utilize and maintain required standards for digital cine technologies, including protocols for image storage and retrieval. They will assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure devices while maintaining hemostasis at access sites. The technologist will manage inventory control, maintain PAR levels, and prepare required equipment for each procedure. They will adhere to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems. Safety is paramount, and the technologist will prepare and care for equipment and return supplies as necessary. Participation in on-call responsibilities is required as per organizational policies. They will apply radial access banding while maintaining hemostasis at access sites. The technologist must recognize and interpret all cardiac arrhythmias. Responsibilities also include assisting with maintenance and calibration of diagnostic and technical equipment. Weekend and holiday shifts may be needed, and on-call duties are required. Knowledge of electrophysiology, intra-procedure mapping, ablation, and implant devices, along with required sterile scrub technique, is essential.
