Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position available in Yakima, Washington. This role involves providing care in a Level III trauma center with a high volume of acuity patients, including pediatrics and geriatrics. The ER team manages diverse patient cases such as stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and trauma, requiring skilled and adaptable healthcare professionals.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., minimum 36 hours per week, with every other weekend rotation and potential for back-to-back weekends.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS or ENPC, TNCC. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a large volume Emergency Department with high acuity patients. Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage (passing hospital triage test required), setting up chest tubes, arterial lines, assisting with trauma and code cases, splinting, Bipap/vent management, and a good understanding of ESI is essential. Pediatric emergency medicine experience and Point of Care Labs experience are highly preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric emergency medicine experience and familiarity with Point of Care Labs.
- Additional Information: This assignment is at a 226-bed level III non-profit community hospital with 34 ER beds, handling 200-250 patients daily. The ER is organized into zones with a fast track area comprising 13 beds (green zone). EMR used is Epic. The hospital does not require floating staff.
