Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse - Maryland. This role involves providing comprehensive pediatric emergency care in a busy, specialized emergency department. The position requires delivering high-quality patient care across a wide spectrum of pediatric conditions for patients from birth to 21 years old. The nurse will work within a facility that handles multiple pediatric specialties, including trauma, burn, and eye care, ensuring adherence to the organizations safety and clinical protocols.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Rotating, with 12-hour shifts.
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); at least 2 years of experience working in Pediatric Emergency Room or Pediatric Psychiatry.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Epic electronic medical record experience.
  • Additional Information: The ER serves patients from newborns up to 21 years (including young adults up to age 25 with pediatric oncology diagnosis). Pediatric trauma patients are typically aged 14 years and under. The department includes 32 beds and 3 triage spaces, with specialized rooms for trauma, neuro, burns, eye, and other pediatric conditions. Candidates with previous employment in any capacity at any Johns Hopkins health system facility must be noted on the application and have been away for at least one year. The facility consults a broad range of pediatric specialties, including neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, and more.
