Job Title: Ambulance Paramedic Profession: Nursing Specialty: Paramedic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varies Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 1 year of paramedic experience required License: Paramedic license per state regulations Certifications: Emergency medical certifications as required Must-Have: One year paramedic experience Description: Provides direct patient care within the scope of license or under the supervision of a physician and within pre-established rules, regulations, and protocols. Administers emergency medications in accordance with state scope of practice for paramedics. Accurately performs complete population-specific patient assessments. Establishes care priorities and renders appropriate care. Accurately documents assessments and treatments of patients using the designated reporting system in accordance with state statutes. Ensures that ambulances and station are maintained, clean, stocked, and ready for service at all times. When requested, assists with medical treatment of patients under the direction of the provider and RN within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Prioritizes tasks and manages time, personnel, and resources to meet department goals and standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Position urgency is rapid response. Holiday coverage is required.
